Airbags Do Not Deploy When Seatbelt Is Not Fastened
It is stated that in many fatal traffic accidents, the loss of life would be less if seatbelts were worn. Car manufacturers strive to minimize the number of fatalities in potential accidents by creating safer cars. Seatbelt and airbag systems are among the measures developed against traffic accidents. The seatbelt and airbag are what save the lives of passengers and drivers in the event of an accident. Unfortunately, many drivers and passengers, thinking that the airbag alone will prevent deaths upon impact, do not wear their seatbelts. However, when the seatbelt is not fastened, the airbag does not deploy or, if it does, causes more harm.
Seatbelt and Airbag
Airbags are safety features that deploy upon frontal or front-corner impact. Airbags have a system that works in conjunction with the seatbelt. In situations where the seatbelt is not fastened, the airbag can harm the passenger instead of benefiting them. Airbags do not deploy in side, rear, or rollover impacts. Therefore, it is a very wrong assumption to think that the seatbelt is unnecessary just because the vehicle has airbags. Seatbelts must absolutely be worn during the journey.
