Machines Used in Poultry Production
How Does the Viscera Removal Machine Work?
Poultry meat consumption is increasing in Turkey, as it is worldwide. White meat production is also increasing to meet this demand in the market. Many specially designed machines are used in slaughterhouses that enable the chickens raised in widespread chicken farms to be mass-produced. Among these are chicken cutting machines and feather plucking machines. In addition, machines for viscera removal, gizzard removal and cleaning, crop cleaning, foot breaking and removal, and neck breaking and removal are also essential equipment in slaughterhouses.
How Are the Viscera Removed?
Chickens brought to the slaughterhouse are hung on machines called chicken cutting machines after the necessary processes are completed. Here, the animals that are inspected and deemed suitable are subjected to stunning. Stunning prevents the animal from experiencing stress and ensures that it does not feel pain during slaughter. The chickens that are cut and bled are then taken to feather scalding machines, where their feathers are softened. In feather plucking machines, the softened feathers are plucked. The de-feathered chickens are then taken to the viscera removal machine for the removal of their internal organs. These automatically operating machines are designed to remove the internal organs without damage. In the machine, attachments called stations enter the animal and remove the internal organs without breaking them.
