A Product of Collaboration
Founded in 1967 as a result of the merger of several local clubs, Trabzonspor has achieved countless successes since then. The team, which has a total of six Süper Lig championships, has thus earned the right to carry stars on its logo. Indeed, it is known as the first Anatolian team outside of Istanbul to win this championship. Trabzonspor won its first championship in 1975 and repeated this success consecutively in 1978, 1979, and 1980. **Trabzon news** is therefore of great importance to the team's fans. Trabzonspor also has a separate team for young footballers called Trabzonspor A2. Trabzonspor A2 competes in the league of the same name.
A School for Young Footballers
Among the most notable names in the squad, whose players range in age from 18 to 20, are Hami Mandıralı and Fatih Tekke. Indeed, Fatih Tekke was the top scorer in the 2004 Süper Lig (with a total of 31 goals). In other words, Trabzonspor news is not just about the successes of the main football team. Similarly, the sports club has various activities in basketball, handball, shooting, swimming, and judo. Trabzonspor Basket, which reached the finals within the Euro Challenge, has achieved great success in Europe in this regard. The handball team is also currently competing in the Turkish Handball League. In line with its founding tradition, Trabzonspor brings together local sports teams to form major teams. Its successes seem set to continue for a long time to come.
