Cleaning and Maintenance of Wooden Blinds is Very Easy
Like all items, our curtains that get dirty also need maintenance and cleaning. The maintenance of wooden blinds is easy. The only point to pay attention to is to be careful not to turn the turning rod more than normal. Also, when you want to gather the curtain completely by pulling the cord control, you should ensure that the wooden slats that make up the curtain are in a horizontal position. Otherwise, its lifespan will be shortened due to excessive friction caused by forcing.
Wooden blinds can be cleaned by wiping with furniture cleaner and a soft cloth, as desired. Apart from this, you can also wipe them with a damp, clean, and cotton cloth without using any cleaning agents. To avoid leaving stains on the slats, it is beneficial to wipe again with a dry cloth after wiping with a damp cloth.
Clean Your Curtain with a Damp Cloth.
Roller blinds do not easily accumulate dust or stains unless the environment is public or very dusty. Thanks to the stiffening property of the finish, dust or dirt does not penetrate the fabric easily. Weekly cleaning with a damp cloth keeps the fabric clean for a long time. Small stains can be easily removed with a pencil eraser. Roller blinds, washable fabrics, are polyester and sun screen. Polyester fabric can be washed at most 2-3 times during its 4-6 year lifespan. Washing should be done by laying the fabric on a flat surface and should not be over-worn. Also, care should be taken not to crease the fabric.
There is no problem with washing sun screen fabric and it can be washed as much as desired. Since it is not finished, there is no issue of the fabric's finish being ruined.
Pay Attention to Vertical Curtain Cleaning
The vertical curtain slats are connected to the moving mechanisms inside the rail by a plastic slat at the top. We should detach it from the mechanism's clip by slightly bending it upwards. We roll the detached dirty slats by placing them on top of each other without squeezing too much. You can tie the roll with a thread to prevent it from unraveling. Let's put it in a container it can fit into, and pour enough normal powder detergent dissolved in water over the rolls to cover them. After waiting for 24 hours, take out the rolls and place them in rinsing water, and after 10 minutes, arrange them on a suitable surface to drain the water. After they dry, reattach them in the same places as they were removed.
